During this workshop we will provide an update on the status of the Canadian Cordillera Array (CCArray), expand on the 'serendipitous' outcomes of EarthScope, explore other possible applications for telemetered Earth observation networks, solicit collaboration from the EarthScope community and continue planning for the launch of the CCArray. The motivation behind the Canadian Cordillera Array (CCArray) is to expand upon the scientific momentum of other North American large Earth systems research and data collection initiatives such as Lithoprobe (1984 to 2004) and EarthScope (2004 to 2018). The vision for CCArray is to install a network of telemetered observatories, instrumented with a suite of sensors which would include one or more of the following sensors: broadband seismometers, Global Navigational Satellite System (GNSS, GPS) equipment, meteorological systems (including barometers), permafrost monitors, atmospheric gas sensors, shallow borehole temperature and moisture sensors, riometers, gravimeters and magnetometers. The overarching goal of the CCArray is to create new research networks capable of contributing towards holistically understanding entire Earth Systems from the magnetosphere to the core.
