EarthScope Education & Outreach Goals
Increasing Earth Science Literacy
EarthScope’s science outcomes are ideally suited for place-based Earth science education in museums, schools, and STEM festivals. There might be an event in your region.
Developing Educational Content
Teams of scientists and educators have developed activities, lesson plans, map tools, visualizations – and much more – to help students and teachers work with EarthScope data and science results. EarthScope materials include videos, teachable moments, research summaries, links to research projects, and interactions with EarthScope scientists and staff. You are a science teacher, working on an after school program or an informal educator in a museum or in a park? Check out our teaching resources page.
Collaborating
Scientists, educators, policy makers, park rangers, museum staff, and others work together to bring EarthScope discoveries to students and the public. Find useful information from previous regional interpretative workshops.
Communicating
EarthScope highlights and research are disseminated through social media, our website, and a quarterly newsletter. Watch EarthScope related videos on our youtube channel, read article written for the public here, or have a look at our newsletter's education corner here.
